OJ says:

Hee hee. Clearly I'm quite giddy now... thankee kindly guys.

Rich, it's a probably inappropriate Sylvia Plath quote which sprang to mind. From Lady Lazarus.

"Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair
And I eat men like air."

Does sound a little risque if you choose to look at it that way!

23rd Dec 2006, 19:00

didnt like to mention Sylvia Platth ..... not sue hoe it would be recieved... one of my personal favourites.

23rd Dec 2006, 19:03

OJ says:

I wasn't quite sure it was a poem to be associated with something as trivial as hair colour. But generally once a title is in my head, it sticks, so I used it.

Clearly I'm not trying to draw any more serious comparisons with the subject matter of the poem.

Glad to remind you of it Mrs540. I see you've had a name change btw. Far better than being Mrs-somethingelse, I always find that a bit uncomfortable.

23rd Dec 2006, 19:08

laughing out loud.......thank you Gael also appreciaed the significance of the name change!!!!!!!

23rd Dec 2006, 19:10

read a very interesting article earlier this week by Germaine Greer. Wondring just how far the womens movement had actually come....... not very far it appears. Alot of us still preface our sentences with " I'm not a femminist but"........................hmmm.

23rd Dec 2006, 19:15

god did I really just type that, its christmas.........

It's great to be a red head, isn't it'?

Reading Birthday Letters at the moment, superb. I think I'm more of a Ted girl. Me and Sylvia have a bit of a love/hate relationship. She's made me cry once too often.

I am a feminist. I stop listening as soon as a girl or boy says I am not a feminist but...

There are a lot of silly people.

24th Dec 2006, 09:53

Grrrr everyone love redheads, you look wonderful, enjoy it :)

looking good ginge. hehe.

24th Dec 2006, 18:32

OJ says:

I wonder if the influence of Moblog - well Helen and Beth - subliminally made me want to try red.

I am a feminist and I often start sentences with "As a feminist..." Um, so there.

I also like Ted and Sylvia - suspect that's not allowed though.

beth says:

-seals of approval- arf!

Just noticed these comments.

Twisted Willow - sorry. Bear in mind that I'll never be a "real" readhead.

Roomie in SF: hurry back whilst it's still ginger. We miss you and I'm very, very envious that you're in Yosemite right now.

Viv - thanks!

More Sylvia Plath fans? Thanks...

2nd Jan 2007, 17:10

Helen says:

If you google "eat men like air" this is the third thing is comes up with!

25th Feb 2008, 21:03

OJ says:

And how many people do you think google that Helen?

26th Feb 2008, 09:29

Helen says:

It's written down an awful lot on poetry pages, in blogs... so possible a handful.

26th Feb 2008, 11:23

OJ says:

Oh, okay....

Well I'm leaving it for now. I went "subscribers only" after a spate of spam a while back so it shouldn't make much difference to my blog.

26th Feb 2008, 11:26

Helen says:

I think you'd only attract Plath fans... they're not known to be menaces, right?

; )

26th Feb 2008, 11:36

OJ says:

Maybe slightly angry, prone to getting shouty in Yorkshire churchyards, but generally not menacing.

Might explain the viewcount though, which I'm sure isn't from L'Oreal fans.
