I love the top shot. Gorgeous in a sharp, bleedingly painful way :D

Yours looks a little different from the pieces that Caine and Rick sent me, less oxidized and less tightly coiled. Is it steel?

Niiiiiice pics, nice swarf. :)

Those look wonderful. The lighting on them makes them look rather sureal, almost fake.

yh - I think the short hair look suits you, but it'll only take a couple of years to get those long curls back :)

E,C,SLG,kos - Thanks :) And yes very sharp and bleedingly painful. The rough edges stick into your skin no matter how carefully you pick it up. Bit like a painful velcro really!! The lighting is pure luck, these were taken on a chair in my office using the K800 :)

facto - Yes it is steel, but it's quite thin (roughly 0.3mm thick, I just measured it), and I think was probably produced on a job where a lot of liquid would have been used to keep the temperature as low as possible. That's probably why there's hardly any discolouring. :)

Ya for SE phones. Gotta love the camera on the K800.

540air says:

Yep, most certainly do. The auto-focus can be a bit crap at times, but it really is a great little camera.

Rick says:

Jammin' Chips! These are very nice! A cut of .3 mm per revoluton is pretty standard, good detective work!

You would've laughed Rick. I spent a while clambering around at tehback of the lathes til he came in and asked what I was after. I explained about moblog, your swarf collection, and using it for christmas decorations.

Most of the things that get put on the lathes these days are either tiny or plastic, so good swarf is hard to find.

Half an hour later he knocks on my office door having found these bits that must have been there ages!!

Rick says:

Cool! Sometimes plastic will make good swarf, but it's rare. It is amazing how people will help us crazy Mobloggers, isn't it?

It is indeed and the expression on his face was priceless as I explained!! :D
