Jim Hartley(Tinyjim-at-hotmail-dot-co-dot-uk) says:

I know an artist from Newcastle who built a miniature version of the “Angel of The North” back in 1977, it looked exactly the same, except it was called “T’ Angel of T’ North” and was two and a half feet tall. They say the Angel of the North helped regenerate the North East but my artistic friend says that’s nothing and claims his Angel helped prevent over a million people loosing their jobs across the whole country. He believes if it weren’t for his angel over five million people would have been on the dole during the recession years of the 1980's! He happens to think that the large Angel of the North isn’t quite in the right location and he is sure its regenerating affect could be enhanced by as much as 50%, if relocated. For a small recompense he is willing to divulge where this better location is hidden. Aye, aren’t artists clever!
