Gran loved her elephant

She named him Delhi (Delhi the elephant, Delhiphant) after the place
he was bought (we overruled her first suggestion, Jumbo). Gran's
still quite a bit green and purple from a fall she had in the night a
couple of weeks ago. But that's not dampened her appetite one bit.

Today I was on strike.

I'm glad your Gran's fall hasn't dampened her appetite; it looks like quite a fall. I hope she enjoys Dehli's company!

Very pleased your gran's not taken too bad a knock from the fall. And her elephant's just gorgeous.

The home is pretty nice and it doesn't smell too bad at all. I think she is comfortable there, she'd just rather be elsewhere. But we can't look after her, she needs someone 24hrs.

Yep PCS. So no to compulsory redundancies, frozen pay rises and regional pay.

The civil service is not a happy place. I need a new job.

Helen - it's rather depressing that many of the issues you mention are the reasons why I left the Civil service nearly 20 years ago...

Helen says:

We probably won't have much of a civil service in another 20 years.

Yep, has to be Delhi the Elephant ... with P on humming the Nellie version ... Like you and Parabolichobo (whose branch is also on strike and who is also looking for a new job) I agree totally with the strike action ... I hope your gran will settle and be as happy as she can ....
