To try and get some sort of picture of the moon with my little Sony
Cybershot I figured a way to do it. I ended up propping my son's telescope up on a garden chair pointing through a gap between our house and the shed to align with the moon, and then removing the eyepiece and holding the camera over the resulting hole as still as I could during the exposure. It came out okay, but I need to work out a way to lash 'em together to crispen up the focus.

Wow, that is very good. You can see the mare (seas of ancient flood basalt) clearly, and that it's upside-down from a Northern Hemisphere perspective :)

very cool first effort, if your camera has a tripod bush you could try a gorillapod clicky they wrap around most anything quite sturdily

Thanks guys - was fun to try it out if a bit awkward and fiddly.

That gorillapod thing looks very useful - I might get hold of one of them anyway after seeing your pics from the front of your bike!
