Wo wo wo. Thankfully, I'm not ill, but the play is about Canadian soldiers who died of Spanish influenza during the first world war.
I'm happy and healthy! Thanks for the get wells anyhow, I shall save them for next time I am ill! :)
One day, I clicked on the link to Liphook in Rhys' sidebar, just out of curiousity. That led me to one of the churches where Canadian soldiers who died of the flu in 1918 are buried. My daughter is designing the sets for a play involving the flu epidemic in a small Saskatchewan town, and the soldiers who may or may not have brought it, so I was really interested to find out some more about the historical background. Rhys sent us some photographs of the church (and blogged them here as well) and sent some articles and recollections as well. It's a pretty depressing play in some ways, but I hope you enjoy it.
