Sprocket says:

'something escaped and gone wild' - like 'Lord of the Flies' enacted by canaries?

you guys are fast! I am so used to posting when you are all in bed..

he's great, isn't he? No, he's a local. And here all winter. they love sunflower seeds and in this cold weather, cardinals will finish off the bird feeder in no time.

hey you still up you crazy little 540? It's lunchtime here.

paintist, he just spends all day in the gloomiest tree he can find because he's a light bulb of a bird. I have to get my magnifying glass for the red bird of happiness. birds of happiness are so elusive.: )

Top shot! I've been trying for years to get a decent shot of our cardinals in the trees out front, but they are amazingly good at hiding for such a bright bird. We need to take the trees down next year and DH has been informed that we need to do it as late in the fall as possible so we don't hurt the wee ones (Cardinals have 2 clutches a year).
