Looked so exciting. The reality was disappointing, it just tasted sweet

Wow, cool looking fruit. Sounds a bit disappointing though. I agree that it looks kiwi-like, maybe because of all the seeds?

Perhaps they could be improved by injecting them with lemon juice or vodka or tabasco or something to give it boost? Although it sounds too expensive to bother with the experimenting. Could try injecting a cucumber first to get the flavour right? Does look pretty though.
