To make a King Cake for the monster.

Eaten not ten minutes after it came from the oven. There's very little left for him to eat for breakfast. Apparently, I make a decent King Cake.

The purple sugar makes parts of it look burnt, but really, it wasn't. It came out just fine. And the monster got King Cake for Mardi Gras. He finished eating at 5 to 12.

I win.

The end.

He got better photos of it. I'm sure he will post them after he wakes up.

It sounds fab, I've never had it . Well done for beating the clock. Hope you're better after your migraine.

The migraine is still there but Excedrin is keeping it at bay. He's eating the last of the cake now. It's really just an egg bread with a sugar topping. Not hard to make, if you can do the conversions into metric.

It looks great :-)

Since I have been getting into baking recently I have been cursing the whole measure by volume rather than weight thing. Trying to work out how much a cup of butter is :-) Metric is so nice and simple!

Would it help if I just sent you some plastic measuring cups in US measurements?

21st Feb 2007, 18:05

kikuchan says:

OMG. I didn't even think of that! You would not believe the issues I've had trying to translate back and forth - as I seem to be mainly finding good american recipes I want to make. Supoib idea. i.e. yes please :-)

How's everything else in yer life btw? I have been little miss introvert for the last month or so I'm afraid. Bad Kiku :-(

You're no more introverted than I am. I've become just this side of a hermit living in a cave.

Been redoing the living room. See my moblog for details. You wouldn't recognize it now. *really*.

And I'll grab a set of cups/spoons for you. I have a package I've been sitting on sending you for oh, about a year now anyway.

Sometimes I dream of being a hermit living in a cave...

The living room is looking ace - I have been following the renovation. I could hardly believe it was the same room :-)

I will worship you more than I already do if you send me cups. My baking extravaganza will only get more - um, extravagant :-)

I'll pick some up. No worries. I have to send out international packages this week anyway.

Yes, to both.
