To make a King Cake for the monster.
The purple sugar makes parts of it look burnt, but really, it wasn't. It came out just fine. And the monster got King Cake for Mardi Gras. He finished eating at 5 to 12.

The migraine is still there but Excedrin is keeping it at bay. He's eating the last of the cake now. It's really just an egg bread with a sugar topping. Not hard to make, if you can do the conversions into metric.

Since I have been getting into baking recently I have been cursing the whole measure by volume rather than weight thing. Trying to work out how much a cup of butter is :-) Metric is so nice and simple!

OMG. I didn't even think of that! You would not believe the issues I've had trying to translate back and forth - as I seem to be mainly finding good american recipes I want to make. Supoib idea. i.e. yes please :-)
How's everything else in yer life btw? I have been little miss introvert for the last month or so I'm afraid. Bad Kiku :-(

The living room is looking ace - I have been following the renovation. I could hardly believe it was the same room :-)
I will worship you more than I already do if you send me cups. My baking extravaganza will only get more - um, extravagant :-)
