Clear skies - cold, but so beautiful tonight. The whole thing went well with a bottle of fizz and some beers. Still haven't got myself that Gorillapod, but managed to prop the camera and telescope against some patio furniture to hold it steady.

It is still so red out there - and the rest of the sky is awesome. Orion and Ursa Major are sparkling. I'm just sorry I now live so far south the Aurora is not going to happen - an eclipse with an aurora is quite special!

Someday I'll manage this without blurring (this may require something other than a Sony Cybershot compact:-)

It was a tad cold - I popped out at 15 minute intervals - between watching utter drivel on the telly and drinking. The kids were so excited about the eclipse earlier we tried to wake them, but they were utterly gone. I'll need to point them at JokerXL's moblog tomorrow morning. His pictures rock!
