Saw Sir Findo Gask's picture and remembered this one from 5 years ago. Hamish in his uncle Sweyn's helicopter - think he has wanted one ever since. Kids and airborne machinery definitely mix. I'm a bit upset that the whole 9/11 thing means my kids will miss out on the fun we used to have visiting the cockpit to meet pilots whenever we flew long haul, having a wee shot flying, etc.

My brother works at Wick airport which is a little more relaxed than the big internationals so young William will get plenty of opportunity to have a look at planes and play in them :)

Our grandfather used to work at Manchester Airport and 30 years ago he used to take me to the airport to not only see the planes but go and kick the tyres as they were on the tarmac at the terminal. Then we would go to the bonded warehouse and his mates used to throw the small cans of coke and stuff over the top of the cage for me....

People would be sacked, arrested and probably shot if they tried that now!

Ahh - Wick! The number of times I flew from Wick to Orkney at about 100 feet above land then water, going down really low in order to check out seals and whales... Glad to hear it is still relaxed.
