Helen says:

I rather like the colour. We had thought it was green, but this bluey turqoisey colour is great. It goes well with the hair.

And dad likes blue.

Funnily enough I rescued our old telephone from my house today, just grey and not working. Design classic, I tells ya!

spongevid says:

I remember when using one of them a few years back to call my dads mobile. it took a while and i'd fallen off hte chair laughing how long it had taken before even dialling the number!

would still love a phone like that since ours broke about 13 years ago. boo!

loving the big plastic phones that you can't lose. I want a red one, like Khruschev had.

I've always wanted a classic phone like this but one with a push button grid instead of a dial...

There must be one on the great internets.

Or two, maybe?

We've got one of these, in red. Don't have a landline at the moment, but when we did it reminded me what a pain in the arse it is to dial numbers on one of these, especially mobile numbers.

Suzi - maybe this one? www.telephones-online.co.uk/item143.htm
(Edit) Ignore me - they've discontinued it.

chris says:

I've got one in black - the ring scares the bjesus out of me though it's so loud. And it's true it takes so long to dial a number it's easy to forget what you were dialing after a few numbers :D

19th Mar 2007, 18:36

Helen says:

I think I am in love with it. Very tempted to steal it, but it would be futile.

I don't have a landline.

factotum says:

We still have one rotary dial phone in the house, a white "Princess" phone. I don't use it very often, but when I do, I find it charming, albeit quaint, and fun. I am old enough to remember picking up the telephone and giving the number to the operator! Also, party lines.

These 746 Telephones were the last of the "Real" telephones" made in the UK. After these phones all the ones that followed were not made to last :-(

I think it would get a little more use if it wasn't in the coldest spot in the house. It has a lovely ring.
