Knowledge pursues me but I am faster.......

If you can’t dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with bullshit.......

.......One day, we will look back on this, laugh nervously, and change the subject…

Pics from the weekend before last (just got round to downloading them ....

1 - 4 Rubbish and Nasty ... a shop in New Cross that more than lives up to it's name .... it is always closed when I go by, so pics taken through the window .... I have chosen the best of the window display ....

5. Greenwich Market .... a nice array of cowboy hats for Sprocket .... (a nearly Birthday pressie, but good taste won out in the end) ....

6. A hairstylist (I think that is what they are called these days .... I have never actually used one, preferring, the mirror, an elastic band and a pair of kitchen scissors) .... this was also in Greenwich Market .... one chair, lots of superheros, the occassional Barbie and a buddha in the corner ... oh yes and lots of very bright, very pink paint .....

What a great series Maggie D. That top shot's quite arresting.

MaggieD says:

Actually, if I remember correctly, the mannequins were in the window of the shop next door (also closed) an equally tasteful establishment ... :-)

Thanks, OJ and Nige, 'tis nice (and a novelty) to be complimented on my photos!

paintist says:

you have an eye for the whacky......love the salon, not sure I would trust them to cut my hair tho... lol

MaggieD says:

P: The salon was empty, not a stylist in sight .... I was so disappointed, just as I had plucked up the courage to get my first ever haircut .....

these are kind of scary in a Barbarella kind of a way................

Sprocket says:

I don't think I could go in a shop that had a big scary mouth for a doorway, as I went in I would think that I was being eaten. eek!

Great selection of hats though.

Wot! Not had a haircut, not never?

22nd Mar 2007, 06:34

MaggieD says:

Never had a haircut at a hairdressers, I just trim the end of my ponytail myself every few months ...... sheer laziness .....

22nd Mar 2007, 08:48

Sprocket says:

I have reached that age where I can just shave my own barnet.

Dhamaka says:

wow - these are visually arresting shots

I've not had a haircut for years. I don't trim my own hair though - just let it grow or fall out

22nd Mar 2007, 15:41

taniwha says:

really? Doesn't just grow further and further down to your knees?

22nd Mar 2007, 16:51

OJ says:

Eek! I get really fed up if it's more than a month since my last haircut. Like now. I'll say it again though - great set :)

factotum says:

Your photographs are always wonderful. You obviously have the eye, for subject matter, composition and the like.

23rd Mar 2007, 13:26

MaggieD says:

Thank you Factotum, that is such a lovely compliment :) ...... I am afraid that I am really not very 'camera aware' ..... I am always wise after the event .... when I do take pics (like this series) it is usually because I have gone back somewhere with the camera having already passed it by thinking, 'I really should take some pics of this' .... but I am getting better .... :)
