Caine says:

Ooh, great food, exquisite colours. Very nice.

hildegard says:

It was very red in there - no saturation adjustment to this, it just happened...

Caine says:

I like it, it's luscious and warm.

12th Apr 2007, 16:28

hildegard says:

Yep, "luscious and warm" really covers it - we were freezing cold & famished when we arrived, replete & back up to normal temps when we left... :)

Dhamaka says:

oooh gorgeous, beautiful, great colours, great foot, great shot

hildegard says:

They're not bad, Hiroba - not the best, but they knock Yo Sushi! into a cocked hat...

12th Apr 2007, 18:51

Dhamaka says:

don't know them, but don't most sushi bars do that...

IMO Yo Sushi's principal selling point is that you can eat 2 california hand rolls, unlimited green tea and unlimited miso soup for less than £6

hildegard says:

Just round the corner from Lincoln's Inn Fields, on Kingsway, near Holborn Tube.

YS is the multipack sandwich of the sushi world so expectations are never high but the Yo Sushi branded Sainsbury stuff seems to me inedible...

Dhamaka says:

thanks
Will try to get there
Didn't realise you meant supermarket packs. I've never even tried that - It has got to be too old before it's even put on the shelves

12th Apr 2007, 19:03

hildegard says:

Tend to mean both - last time I went to YS, I ordered ikura gunken & the roe was off... :(

Gael NLI says:

I like Moshi Moshi in Brighton. To be honest I prefer tempura to sushi and i like those very showy places abroad where you sit around your chef while he prepares your own persosal meal.
Pricey though :(

One to avoid; Eat Tokyo, Golders Green...
"Hygiene inspections in Golders Green have come under the spotlight this week after a sushi chef was caught preparing fish for an exclusive restaurant out by the bins.
A worker from Eat Tokyo on North End Road was caught slicing a blue fin tuna in a rubbish-filled alleyway."

Bleurgh.

12th Apr 2007, 22:28

Jigalong says:

I'll need more info on the word "Bleurgh."

In the urban dictionary it has a meaning that states "Noise made while violently vomiting into one or more person's shoes" Is this close?

14th Apr 2007, 00:32

hildegard says:

"Bleurgh" - onomatopoeic expression indicative of distaste or exhaustion.
The UD is needlessly narrow in its definitions... ;)
