Urban Norwich

We've been in Norwich for a few days. We've passed through briefly every now and then and kind of caught glimpses of ancient cathedrals and narrow lanes giving me the impression of a lovely olde Englishe place-e. Strolled through it over the last three days and found it's really urban ... with lots and lots of goths.

Thanks. But boy did we get lost a lot.

They also have lots of malls. It's always disappointing to get ut of the car and see a town that looks like any other town. We try to steer clear of them.

Hey, there's only two. And I think you'll find they're called emos ;P

They must be very big malls then. Was one called Chapelfield? We seemed to have to walk for ages to get back to our car. Is the other one called Castle Hill or something? We got lost there as well.

Oh, a friend and I talked about the difference between goths and emos - I was asking "but do Emos like Siouxsie or the Cure" and she said yes but in a different way. I wonder what the difference is?

its understanding to get that impression of norwich because of the emo/goth/twats that hang about outside the forum. They're like bleedin' graffiti!
if you venture to the right parts you will find some historical delights. Namely Elm Hill - the best erm, hill in norwich! The castle looks far too modern than it really is though!

We mainly parked in the mall carparks but managed to get to older bits. Saw the cathedral which is as gorgeous as I remember it, strolled around the castle which was lovely. I quite liked the Forum and had dinner at the pizza express there. Also window shopped near Magadelene Street and if my daughter didn't need the toilet, would have spent another happy hour there.

Oooh, there you go. I was in Norwich last weekend - My photos just didn't come out right though, hence no bloggery of it.

I realise now that it would have been useful to ask local Mobloggers to recommend things to visit.
