Aw... a proper rocking horse horse. :)
Lots of police forces won't use greys because they take so much more grooming. Glad that Toronto Dibble know a good thing when they see it & hang the extra labour. :)
First horse I knew was just called 'dapple grey'. Think I was about six.
Toronto police are very good to their horses.
I thought that was a pic of a policeman in London at first glance :)
It's a beauty
A picture of the royal mounted Canadian police. This is brilliant
sorry Jigalong. The RCMP on horses are something else--lances, scarlet jackets and those nifty hats. This is your standard Toronto policeman on his horse. Used to charm the public and to keep protesters a safe distance from the US consulate.
Gorgeous horse! And well captured pic - I like the officer's bright jacket against the rather dismal looking background.
I was gonna say! what happened to the trad-mounties?
But you got there first.
'Tis a lovely horse .... good to hear that they are well looked after ...
They're a farrier's nightmare though - many police horses wind up retiring because their hooves are completely shot from all that roadwork.
So, SR, y'know you mentioned wanting a horse? Dunno about Canada but in the UK, once their hooves are sorted, retired police horses are sometimes available on loan from charities like the International League for the Protection of Horses. A little gentle schoolwork, some hacking & lots of lurve is perfect retirement for a horse like that & you get a bombproof ride. If you're going to keep 'em barefoot, all the better.
Just a thought... ;)
H, I am all for barefoot. And for a farm. Want to buy me one? Horse heaven.
(P) what's this?
