It's what those pixels were made for!

On a side note, I'm keeping my eye on busyness today, which is a new feature we designed to help people find the active conversations on the site. It's helped me to find what people are saying about the new home page, which is just great! We'll probably tweak it a bit as we see how it works, but I'm very happy so far.

I like the feature but hate the name

20th Apr 2007, 14:05

goode says:

20th Apr 2007, 14:09

afternoon says:

We liked "HOT CHAT" but it didn't get used in the end for some reason...

20th Apr 2007, 14:09

ViX says:

What about 'The Chatter Box', or something like 'Comment Crazy'?

Feel free to laugh, haha.

20th Apr 2007, 14:31

Steve says:

"Word (street style) Yo"
"Band Wagon"

20th Apr 2007, 14:39

Steve says:

How about "The Current" As in a flowing stream and the here and now?

20th Apr 2007, 14:43

afternoon says:

Yes, now you can see why we went for busyness :-).

20th Apr 2007, 14:46

Salome says:

How about 'People are talking...' there used to be a US tv show of that name so it's got a sort of kitschy thing. Or something bland like 'activity'. Or I like Steve's suggestion.

Rich says:

The chattanooga choo choo?

Nope. Chatalogue.

20th Apr 2007, 16:05

Miss Angel says:

ALL of the above sound better than busyness, actually.

And of all things, why not give users the ability to change their moblog's layout (not just the CSS - I mean how many images are displayed on each page, if images are displayed in blocks side by side or below each other like currently)..

20th Apr 2007, 17:35

mat says:

Layout customisation is a whole world of potential trouble, which is why we haven't done it so far. It's certainly something I'd like us to do one day - but it's much much harder that just letting people edit their css.

Steve says:

"The Current" it's perfect I tells ya!

20th Apr 2007, 18:08

Moblog's all about abbreviation.

Viv says:

20th Apr 2007, 18:16

Steve says:

Tippy tappy typy talks?

20th Apr 2007, 18:30

Alfie says:

I quite like busyness, me. It sums it up better than anything else I've been able to think of, whilst not being really annoying like 'talkiness' or something.

20th Apr 2007, 23:27

540air says:

I like Helen's idea. "Chatlog" seems pretty good :)

21st Apr 2007, 00:22

Steve says:

"The Current" I tells ya

21st Apr 2007, 00:25

540air says:

Hmmmmm, not so bad either ;)

21st Apr 2007, 00:28

Helen says:

It needs to be straight to the point. Say what it is without any confusion.

21st Apr 2007, 00:29

Steve says:

How about "The Current"?

21st Apr 2007, 00:30

Helen says:

21st Apr 2007, 00:30

540air says:

So you'll be just saying what you think then Helen? ;)

21st Apr 2007, 00:32

Helen says:

That wasn't a title suggestion.

21st Apr 2007, 00:33

Steve says:

I'm sensing hostility to "The Current"

21st Apr 2007, 00:34

Helen says:

Maybe if it was a new section in The Guardian.

21st Apr 2007, 00:35

540air says:

I'm thinking that maybe "the Current" or "wanky" aren't going to be the replacement for "busyness" then!!

21st Apr 2007, 00:36

Steve says:

Well Wanky gets my vote...

We could have a naming comp!

21st Apr 2007, 00:37

540air says:

Now there's a plan!!!!!

So that's two votes for "wanky" :D

21st Apr 2007, 00:40

Helen says:

Wanky Whitterings

I think Alfie's stuck on Busy-ness

21st Apr 2007, 00:41

Do you think they'll go for it? ;)

21st Apr 2007, 00:44

Helen says:

Who knows?

21st Apr 2007, 00:47

540air says:

Maybe we should start a campaign, I'm sure we could get a few to back it.

21st Apr 2007, 00:48

Helen says:

We could just... hijack it somehow.

21st Apr 2007, 00:52

540air says:

You need to speak to Joe about that, he's the techy god for hacking and you are fairly close.... I'm the wrong end of the country :)

Are you, Steve, Beth and your mum thinking of tripping down to ours for the bbq in May? It'd be great to see you all.

21st Apr 2007, 00:57

Helen says:

Me and mum are thinking of making it down. I've even provisionally booked the Friday afternoon for travelling.

Don't know if Beth's thinking of going or Steve (we broke up).

21st Apr 2007, 00:59

540air says:

Oh sorry, I didn't realise you two had split. Please forgive my numptyness in that area.

It'll be great if you can come down, I know SLG is really looking forward to catching up with your mum, and now the loft conversion is almost comlpete, we should be able to offer rooms to sleep in too if required :)

21st Apr 2007, 01:04

Helen says:

That's ok. And thanks, we may have somewhere to stay but that's not for sure yet... so we'll definitely bear that in mind.

21st Apr 2007, 01:07

540air says:

Cool. Well, due to my inability to keep my eyes open and the fact that I have to train a bunch of 7 year olds football tomorrow morning at 9:30, I'm off to the land of nod.

G'night :)
