I had a really nice chat with one of the parking wardens in Brum the other day - he'd just ticketed a Ferrari F430 which always parks without a valid ticket in front of some offices near Victoria Square (methinks it's the boss' car and he's showing off by not paying) - we had a proper laugh for a few minutes and I think he was positively delighted to find someone who was on his side for a change!
It has to be one of the shittest jobs, the torrent of abuse they get from people who know they're in the wrong - but equally I've seen some BIZARRE ticketing situations and have had to restrain myself from jumping in to the argument because I know it'd get nobody anywhere. That said, it's only the hugely unrealistic quotas imposed on the wardens by the county council which make them ticket as much as they do.
They're, for the most part, really nice people just trying to do a job, apart from the odd couple who seem to just ticket anything not moving. Anyways, don't hate the wardens, hate the councils for being so uptight about parking regulations.
