They are lovely. The leaves are completely different to wattles in the Pilbara.
In my yard I have about 5 different types of wattle. They flower at all different times of the year but the bulk are usually around August/September. I think this one is flowering early. The leaves make a great natural dye for wool and leave the house smelling beautiful- a bit like apples.
Some of my spring flowers are almost in bloom already- 3 months early. The friesias are budding already- I just hope I don't lose them in the next frost.
jesson, it's so backwards weather for me, and on top of it you're saying it's confused...so I am absolutely confused. I would love a flower that smells like apples.
Hope the eyes dry up.
I used to put huge sprays of wattle in a vase on my kitchen table in winter. Lovely. The grey-leaved is one of my favourite varieties.
