It's a rather nice motor, better than I thought.

front is a bit ugly but a nice rear end!

Joe says:

I actually prefer the front to the rear...

Mmmm nice. Is it quick?

Joe says:

Yeh, torquey more than anything, it's a 3.5 litre v6 so it has plenty of power...I wouldn't fancy a country road in the wet though, but then I'm a bit spoiled on that score :)

540air says:

That could prove to be an entertaining ride, I'm guessing a bit like an old Capri, but with more power ;)

Are you thinking about swapping it for the scooby?

Joe says:

gosh no, I wish I had 30 grand to spend on a car :D....its my mum who's decided she wants something more sporty. So far she's looked at the new TT 3.2 quattro, this and the RX 8.

540air says:

Your mum?? That's fantastic!!!! :D

The RX8 is supposed to be good, but I quite like the TT.

the idea of your mum haring around in this is excellent.

did you whisper in her ear that she could get a lovely 3-4 year old 911 for 30 grand?

Joe says:

She's always been a petrolhead...She'd never buy a Porsche though, they shout too much about being fast, she's more into the understated but quick kind of thing...I suggested an Audi RS4 but they're out of her price range by quite a long way.

*nod* that makes perfect sense. hope she finds something she likes

350z, nice motor..

We looked at one last year but went for the Pathfinder instead. Far more practical with Borris T Dog..

Then I got the merc, I still sorta wish I had got the 350 instead..

Joe says:

Practical it is not, it would be a struggle to get a full grocery shop in the back, and with the new road tax laws it wouldn't be cheap to run...but I guess those aren't really considerations when you're buying this kind of car. As you probably know, I'm a BIG fan of Japanese engineering, and as a drivers car, this is the better of the ones we've looked at. The Audi, although excellent, is rather clinical, and uninspiring, the kind of car that would suit an inexperienced driver. Though I have to say, I was expecting a little more of the 350's Z/skyline ancestry to shine through, but thats my fanboy side speaking.

We (my whole family) talked in length as to which one she should buy, and I seemed to be the only person voting for this one.

remind her the audi is just a skoda with a slutty dress on and maybe she'll come around...
