I dunno why it's held here either...we're a scientific department after all! Possibly because our dept. can no longer have alcohol on campus. There was an incident with another (snooty and really well funded)department...there were many words exchanged (we got called "unprofessional despots")...and were banned from the drinking at interdepartmental and on-campus events.
