This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

"Give, give, give -- what is the point of having experience, knowledge or talent if I don't give it away? Of having stories if I don't tell them to others? Of having wealth if I don't share it? I don't intend to be cremated with any of it! It is in giving that I connect with others, with the world and with the divine."

"The grand show is enternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapour is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."

"The bicycle is the most civilised conveyance known to man. Other forms of transport grow daily more nightmarish. Only the bicycle remains pure in heart."

Please can I have a translation .....

Dhamaka says:

I was kind of hoping someone else would do that but OK..

the first one says 'don't go there to finish' but there's a play on words so 'going there' is made to sound like 'wash'

the second one is another play on words that could be read as one of several things (I think). These are 'if you can't, take water', 'if you're not going to rot, take a bath' (but the word I think means rot could also mean annoy or be dead and buried. The same word might also relate to modesty or wealthy so it could mean 'if you're not wealthy, take a bath'

I think the last one says 'dont' question, don't ask (for anything but) (re)production'

I think the first two are about the argument between Argentina and Uruguay about paper mills polluting the river. I'm not sure what the last one is about. I could be completely wrong about them too.

I'm hoping that CHESO will be able to explain all of them when she's back from her vacation

Thanks D, my first thoughts on seeing them were that the first three might well be about (water) pollution ... it was the last one that intriqued me ..... especially what I took for the US dollar at the bottom ....

I think that the first one says, pretty much "You're not going to finish it off"; the second, colloquially, says "Imagine if you couldn't drink water"; the third, again colloquially, "Imagine if you couldn't wash"; the last is a bit tougher: I think it says "No questions, don't ask, don't suggest, it's only about making me (i.e. dollars)". "Pudieras", in the middle two, is the second person future subjunctive of Poder, it doesn't have anything to do with rotting :)

You're welcome :)

That's fine; I pretty much read it fluently, even if I stumble when I speak it :)
