Mon amie la rose....

I was born at dawn
Baptised in dew
I blossomedIn the rays of the sun
Happy and in love
I closed my petals at night
And when I awoke I was old.
Yet I had been beautiful
Yes, I was the most beautiful
Of all the flowers in your garden
See, the God that made me
Now makes me bow my head
And I feel I'm falling
And I feel I'm falling
My heart is almost bare
I have a foot in my grave
Already I am nothing
You admired me only yesterday
And I shall be dust
Forever, tomorrow
Last night the moon
Kept vigil over my friend
And in a dream I saw
Her soul, dancing
Dazzling and naked,
Above the heavens,
Smiling on me.
Let those who can, believe
But I need Hope
Or else I am nothing

taniwha says:

You can almost smell them

15th Jun 2007, 23:27

minkey says:

thanks T yes they are fragrant. All the roses in the garden are, the little pleasure of life :-)

15th Jun 2007, 23:32

Caine says:

Aw, I'm sorry your camera died. :(

minkey says:

oui me too.... so looking around and hinting at my mum about the next big birthday cheeky me but may not be able to wait that long....

15th Jun 2007, 23:47

taniwha says:

hey coincidence. My SLR is now designated landfill. need to buy a new one.

15th Jun 2007, 23:49

minkey says:

which one would you recommend?

15th Jun 2007, 23:52

taniwha says:

dunno ... I'm a bit of a cheap skate. But it's father's day on Sunday and as a treat I may browse a little

15th Jun 2007, 23:53

minkey says:

Well who knows...did you hint enough...

15th Jun 2007, 23:59

taniwha says:

I think they have already purchased but I'd be allowed an indulgent self buy ... but knowing me I'd hesitate and think and then put it off for a year.

Will you be buying for father's day?

16th Jun 2007, 00:01

minkey says:

Nope :-(
But SLR dreaming of the canon 400D :-)

16th Jun 2007, 00:08

taniwha says:

Jeeez Louise, I'd rather go blind they pay that. That would be a nice piece of machinery though. And you'd better take some nice piccies with that thing.

minkey says:

well big bday coming up next year...so can always dream but would have to wait nearly a year... and add the next two Xmas and so on...

16th Jun 2007, 00:15

taniwha says:

yeah, my wife is pretty encouraging of the new camera but would blanch at that amount of hardware. Imagine being in Chritmas debt for two years though. Father Christmas coming down the chimney and shaking his head mournfully in your direction.

16th Jun 2007, 00:19

minkey says:

Yes.... that's what i'm thinking...maybe if i stop eating for the next year that'll do.... but would get it in france cheaper or in the states... dreams are cheap...

Perhaps we could invite advice from Moblog?

16th Jun 2007, 00:29

Caine says:

I want a Nikon D80. Rick waffles between wanting a D80 and a Pentax K10D. I'm willing to spend major money on the D80 camera kit, because it includes lenses from 18mm to 135mm. Geodyne went with the Pentax, and she has gotten great shots with it.

We've set up a 'camera account' at our bank. When we have the money, we'll shop!

harimanjaro says:

I keep looking at SLRs but always find myself preferring something less bulky. I might end up significantly poorer when the Sigma DP1 finally hits the shops.

16th Jun 2007, 09:56

harimanjaro says:

Lovely pics, by the way :-)

16th Jun 2007, 09:58

minkey says:

Thanks Hari. I'll have a look at what they say on the Sigma DP!
Caine one of my friend is a photographer and he suggested this one...hmmm...dream. He also suggested to get the best lense i could get. I just read some reviews and i'm not advanced more...
Yes moblog advice would be good :-) HELP...

16th Jun 2007, 10:49

harimanjaro says:

If you're after an SLR the DP1 won't be for you, but it's my dream camera at the moment (vintage Leicas aside). If I needed an SLR tomorrow I'd probably go for the Pentax K100, or the K10 if I was feeling very flush. But then I'd have no money left for the Sigma.

16th Jun 2007, 15:46

minkey says:

Well as i'm stuck at home with a bad back i'll have a look at all the review. My best camera was a very old canon where i had to measure everything (lux, iso...etc) but moving to digital i've lost the reflex so SLR is going back to it :-) how to get good value for $ that's another story
