Yeah, too easy wasn't it? I love the colours too, so much so I just broke my rule of only buying cheap bike helmets.

Nice pics, nice helmet. :)

go on then, how much?

A rather scary 90 quid. It is the best made and most comfortable lid I've ever had, but it's a lot of money for something that's basically disposable. I'll just have to ride more to get my money's worth.

£90? The lid would need to be made of burnished titanium, lined with cashmere and come with a handmaiden to fasten the strap for me to fork out all that! That said, my cheapo (£25) lid is seriously pissing me off at the moment comfort-wise - what make and model do you you have and what makes it so comfy?

Yeah, it's outrageous, but it had been a crappy week and I wanted to cheer myself up. I'd happily pay £99 for the lid you described, though!

It's a Giro Xen, very light, lots of ventilation, the padding feels good (though the padding on my old lid was on the verge of rotting away, so that could be relative) and the it wraps well around the back of the head, which supports it nicely. I had actually planned to buy the cheaper Giro Hex, but I was weak.

ah, fair play, we chaps need some retail therapy now and again. Mine has a habit of the forehead pad shifting so you get spikes of velcro rubbing on your forehead, which is probably the most annoying feeling I've ever felt. I have to cycle to Cardigan and back next week (between 35 and 40 miles each way depending on route with some mega hillclimbing over the Preselis), and I foresee my lid being cast asunder somewhere along the way...
