18th Jun 2007, 18:59

Helen says:

Gatecrasher crashed. Rather dramatic. I wonder what caused it.

Nic says:

Gatecrasher - 'It will always be with you!' ...
Erm maybe not

OJ says:

Hi MissJudged,

I'm just posting another. Sorry, was shooting footage for work at the same time so couldn't take many.

blimey. i actually went there about 10 years ago. any news on how it happened, and more importantly, how will those glo-stick shaking crasher-kids manage without their home?

always preferred the music factory myself.

18th Jun 2007, 21:09

OJ says:

I'm not sure how many crasher-kids there are anymore.

I thought you might have been there Nige.

The story's still developing - fire under investigation etc.

18th Jun 2007, 21:50

nige says:

only once. i was never a glo-stick kiddie.

18th Jun 2007, 22:21

OJ says:

Nor me, Nige. Just realised this has had 987 views in 4.5 hrs without being on the homepage or anything. Does google index that fast now. I'd be interested to see the referrer reports for this one.

18th Jun 2007, 22:50

nige says:

my word.

omg cnt believe this has happened we was there only the other week for pvd best night eva what has caused this

18th Jun 2007, 23:59

Rich says:

There's a rather familiar looking photo on the BBC article about it, but it doesn't appear to be showing up on Google just yet. Maybe it's being linked from another forum?

19th Jun 2007, 00:12

OJ says:

Maybe it is Rich. Does Moblog keep referrer logs? Mat? I'm just slightly surprised and possibly sheepish. The other photo is not a camphone shot.

19th Jun 2007, 00:23

mat says:

Despite google not getting to it yet, this post is currently accounting for the majority of the site's recent referrers - it's been linked from many facebook locations and a tonne of assorted clubbing fora.

The "referrer" header should not be considered reliable (in that it doesn't always exist), so chances are it's driving even more traffic than I can see.

19th Jun 2007, 00:27

OJ says:

Thanks mat. Facebook. Hmm.

swamprose says:

coming here late. just great photos, OJ, and your moment on the ground with the cameras and the what kind of journalist are you--oh yes, wonderful.

19th Jun 2007, 02:49

OJ says:

Thanks swamprose.

I was having a bit of a private/professional boundaries moment there. It's still not quite brewed into a fully-formed conclusion.

19th Jun 2007, 18:52

Helen says:

Worlds do cross over in ways that make you feel weird from time to time.

19th Jun 2007, 18:55

OJ says:

Using my real name online on a social networking site has a lot to do with my ruminations. The knock-on effects on my other activities are becoming apparent.

19th Jun 2007, 18:58

Helen says:

Changing your name is possible, but then defeats some of the intentions of FB.

A case for a professional name. If your name was as common as mine, it would present less of a quandary.

Maybe I'll take up a new name/surname if I ever become a career woman.

19th Jun 2007, 19:05

OJ says:

It's not really that, I'm happy to use my real name on FB - but then I also like to be able to post anonymously here.

19th Jun 2007, 19:09

swamprose says:

so I sometimes wonder who the hell is looking at my blog. the hits on some photos are really weird, lots. I forget that we are open to the web, not just this tiny community.

20th Jun 2007, 00:41

OJ says:

The hits on this got very high before it would have had chance to appear in the search engines - hence my puzzlement.

But I syndicate my blog in to my Facebook (sort of) so the link could have been picked up from there - or of course passed on by mobloggers.
