"And as you cross the circle line,
Well the ice wall creaks behind
You're a rabbit on the run.
And the silver splinters fly
In the corner of your eye,
Shining in the setting sun.
Well do you ever get the feeling
That the story's too damn real
And in the present tense.
Or that everbody's on the stage
And it seems like you're the only
Person sitting in the audience
Skating away, skating away, skating away
On the thin ice of the new day"

mighty high...The view must have been awesome :-) not sure i want to know what the skeleton is...
Great shots, great story. There really is no stopping Rick, is there?
It is *very* high. After Rick climbed back down, he tells me "oh, one of the ladders was hanging by one nail." Yeesh. It's a deer skeleton. Been there quite a while, looks like.
Thanks, Hari. :) There isn't much that will stop Rick. I was teasing him last night while I was sorting all our pics. I told him I didn't even have to egg him on - one look at the ladder, and munkeh brain took over!
I love this series! Wish I had been there! Now over to Rick's blog to see if he's posted his photographs too.
Thanks, A. :) The rain has made everything gorgeous.
Thanks, Facto. I just got Rick's pics uploaded for him. Last thing he hollered before he left for work was "can you do my pics for me please?"
Thanks, Nige. We promised we'd do it. :)
I think Rick is onto something here that could follow in the footsteps of Nige's amazing Jumping phenomenon - spontaneous climbing! Spot something tall on your travels, don't just stare up at it, get it climbed! (due to the shortness of locals in Pembrokeshire there are no tall buildings except for the chimneys at Toxico Oil Refinery, and they're a bit too well guarded for my liking!)
:D Rick would *adore* a climbing blog! It can be difficult to find things to climb here too, as most property is fenced off and posted.
When I said on Caine's blog that I wished I had been there, I now realize how very much I meant down there on the ground with Caine.
I'm enjoying all the details, as usual! The ghost sign in the second shot, for example.
:)
Heh, ground for me too, Facto. It was fascinating inside, but there was a lot you couldn't get to, not enough floor. Thank you. :)
Have been waiting for this :) ... I am in awe of anyone who can climb above the second floor of any building ..... that second shot is just, well, awesome! .... am off to look at Rick's pics .....
Thanks, Maggie. :) I can't climb high anymore, I don't have the necessary balance these days. I love taking pics of Rick being high up though!
ooh, dinosaur bones.
I'd love to live in a building like that, though it would have to have some enormous windows in it.
I have actually sketched my ideal house, I merely meed to find an architect able to turn a scribble into a feasible construction and a whole heap a cash to pay some peeps to build it.
*clicks heels together to see if that helps*
Sprocket, if I could afford a grain elevator in *good* condition, I'd convert it to a house in a second! That would be a spectacular place to live, to say the least. :)
