My ear. It doesn't work. The nerves are dead, or were never there. They've never really explained it to me, but a doctor at university used a long word for it once... neurogenesis. Nervogenesis. I expect bad genes or some sort of trauma come into it.

I think it all works fine, just there are no nerves to tell me what I'm hearing. I think.

Yup, been like this from birth, so I don't know any better/what I'm missing out on. It's alright. My other ear is fine.

i don't quite understand what you mean, swamprose. i took the pic - i held out the camera and snapped it. i cut my hair short, and shot it at an angle, so maybe thats why it doesnt look like me. i guess i need to improve my skills, and hopefully this will help.

Hmmm ... I've thought of doing this but wonder how trying it would become. I think at best, no contrivance, like you say. I wonder whether it would be worth photographing at a key moment in the day - capturing a good feeling on each day. Perhaps that would make it too hard.
