A bit of an obvious subject to try my new fisheye lens with.

minkey says:

He He He...tiger barbs lol....and they move pretty fast and nibble on your fingers if you feed them :-)

21st Jun 2007, 22:36

harimanjaro says:

Thank heavens for that - I was picturing you cornered by ravenous beasts in your living room, camera in hand, desperately trying to get near your fish tank.

I sometimes think my imagination is too vivid.

21st Jun 2007, 22:41

minkey says:

No...Can you imagine what people would think...having already posted strange animals...a tiger in my living room...hmmm....Imagination is good, and a vivid one can always make you smile. Just pictured it....

21st Jun 2007, 22:43

harimanjaro says:

Well yes, now you mention strange animals it could be flying pigs and lycra sheep. Give me tigers any day!

21st Jun 2007, 22:54

minkey says:

*going to try to find a tiger...might have to do with a stuffed toy...*

21st Jun 2007, 23:02

harimanjaro says:

Yeah, you just want to go back to that toy shop :-)

21st Jun 2007, 23:03

me and the ex had tiger barbs, they seemed to play battle royale, each day you'd check them and one would have a fin missing and such like, crazy things....

21st Jun 2007, 23:08

minkey says:

Yep...any or giraffe...or more....:-)
WFF mine are quite tam, sometimes they just lock mouth and don't quit for few hours....Just a shame not very compatible with lots of other fishes

21st Jun 2007, 23:17

Yes most of our others seemed to disappear, tho it took us a while to notice!

21st Jun 2007, 23:20

minkey says:

Only two neons left :-( and They are singing I will survive....been doing that for four months now...poor little guys. I nearly feel guilty, and one upside down catfish and two snails :-)

21st Jun 2007, 23:21

harimanjaro says:

Right, that's convinced me, I'm definitely sticking to goldfish. Much more soothing than battle royale lock mouth neons and upside down catfish.

21st Jun 2007, 23:49

minkey says:

Yes but so much fun :-) Do those guys have name ?

21st Jun 2007, 23:51

harimanjaro says:

The biggest one is called Big Fish or Greedy Bastard, depending on whether he's eaten any minnows recently (it's not all peace and calm in a cold water aquarium, you know). The other goldfish is called Fish, to differentiate him from Big Fish (he's not small enough to be Little Fish). There's a cloud minnow and a zebra danio in there as well, the last survivors of the shoal that Greedy Bastard has eaten. I should name them really, ideally after something that's hard to eradicate.

22nd Jun 2007, 00:06

harimanjaro says:

Actually you can just see the zebra danio in the picture, near the top left. He has a horribly bent spine, I might call him Boomerang. And,looking more closely, the minnow is visible too, emerging from the hole in the side of the pipe below Big Fish. I have decided to call him Rambo, so now they all have names.

That's a very pleasing photograph!

22nd Jun 2007, 05:07

harimanjaro says:

Factotum, thanks.

Boet, :-)

22nd Jun 2007, 07:54

minkey says:

Hari I started with cold water :-) . I like the names, Rambo....Glad that they all have names now
my snails are called hoover and daffodil (?)...

22nd Jun 2007, 07:55

harimanjaro says:

Ha ha! Daffodil is a great name for a snail.

22nd Jun 2007, 08:02

minkey says:

I thought you'd prefer hoover but maybe too obvious. I'll try to take a pics but they are very fast snails....

22nd Jun 2007, 17:38

Dhamaka says:

I preferred the first names. They made me laugh

nice shot too

22nd Jun 2007, 18:25

harimanjaro says:

Looking forward to seeing pictures of those racing snails, Minkey.

Dhamaka, with my memory I'll forget what I called them in a week. I have enough trouble remembering my own name.

Dhamaka says:

I collect(ed) dragons. Not sure how many I have. Over 50 but when my brother's kids come to count them they always get different numbers. They're all called Harold except the two from Indonesia who are Shirley and Simon (mother and brother)
