I love that you get a badge. That's acecore. Do you get to keep it?

I did jury service once. spent a week sitting in a dark, unwindowed room under the court, waiting to be called up. Didn't happen. I did manage to read three books though.

Are you trying to influence a juror, george?
Mat, unfortunately we don't get to keep there acecore badges. :(
I was kinda hoping to get excused, but it's kinda fun.
I'll tell you all about it when the trial is over. It has been very interesting so far! :)

Someone I know was on a jury here in Montreal once-- 9:00 to 5:00 every day for five weeks, then sequestered for 11 days. Interesting, yes, but I don't think he considered himself lucky.

Guilty!

You are part right, Slworking. Guilty on 2 out of 3 charges.

Byu the end of the trial, I became foreman of the jury. The defendant was found not guilty of stealing a truck, but guilty of possessing so much methamphetamine, that it could not be for personal use, and thuc, under Minnesota law, also guilty of sale (or intent of sale) of methamphetamine.

There were 3 days of conflicting testimony, but when it all boiled down to it. The guy had permission to borrow the truck and he was the only one seen reaching up under the dash to where the methamphetamine was found.

Factotum: I was technically on jury duty starting the first of the month, but you just phone it in in Minnesota until they actually need you, then you may be selected, or you might go back to phoneing in every few days. Now that I've served, I can't be called to be a juror again for 4 years.

Electric Sheep: Fortuanately the weather was pleasantly cool, and it was raining outside most of the time, so we weren't kept from sunny summer activites by the trial.
