A triple-purpose outing this evening: get out for a ride, put my click on the ClickCam and start to get to grips with the new Nikon. Waverley Abbey seemed like a good destination. Dhamaka promised good weather and somehow she managed to deliver. I knew she was multi-talented, but weather control?

love the last shot, and yay for multipurpose outings! (I always say the ride is reason enough, but always take the camera along!)

Thanks Hobo and Nige. The last shot is the site of the monks' sleeping quarters; I've always thought there was a reptilian, dragon's wing look to it. The tunnelly bit was the only place where the monks were allowed to break their vows of silence, and then only in extreme circumstances, apparently.

I like the monks' sleeping quarters photos, both this and the fisheye one. If you're experimenting, why don't you post different versions of the same shot side by side, just for fun?

Nice one:-) Invitation to visit there, but by bike indeed sounds much nicer

Viv, Taniwha, thanks.

Factotumm, I might just do that.

Minkey, far nicer getting there by bike, it's only a short ride from Farnham but a very pleasant one. The Harimanjaro Guided Bike Tour company is now open for business :-)
