Cathedral fig tree

The last page of photos are all from a tour around the Atherton Tablelands in far north Queensland, Australia.

These fig trees were really cool. They germinate on the top of the host tree, then quickly grow their roots down until they hit soil. They then strangle the host tree. In this case, the host had long since rotted away, leaving a hollow cylinder in the centre of the fig tree.
