I once left a spoonful of margarine in a glass on a windowsill. In three (summer) months, nothing ate it, nothing grew on it - it barely even changed colour. It's spreadable plastic.

seaneeboy: I eat a lot more Marmite than that. Gravy browning, however - my Mum's on her fourth bottle, after 35 years of marriage :-)
