The meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Today is my 13th wedding anniversary.

This is me, in my wedding dress. I am sentimental enough that I kept it, but cheap enough that I never had it cleaned or stored "properly" or anything. It was hanging in my coat closet (and is currently... where did I put it when I took it off after the photo? Probably someplace where a cat has not taken up residence on it, but I should get it and put it back in the closet).

It is SO wrinkled.

Anyhow, umm...

Kid is feeling better, or at least she is pretending to because she fears we shall go eat sushi without her tonight.

Thirteen years, that is more than twelve, and less than fourteen. My taste in clothing has changed, but my taste in men has stayed exactly the same.

Alright, time to get dressed for dinner, and maybe go so far as to put on makeup or something.

August 13th, 2007, in my time zone.

It's the hair that makes it for me.
Did the dress originally have crinolines?

You so do not look old enough to have been married 13 years.

Happy anniversary.

Hmm, I *tried* to post a comment last night from my phone, but it looks like that failed.

bronxelf - Thanks for appreciating the hair. It would have been even more entertaining if I had my headpiece, but that is somewhere in storage in a paper bag, the same bag it got tossed in right after the wedding.

There was never crinolines, or even a simple slip. I did wear nylons, wonder of wonders. At the wedding it was not ridiculously wrinkled, so the skirt hand a nice drape to it. I guess. I didn't want something nearly as poofy as what I kept seeing at the bridal stores (and no bows on my ass please) so I ended up having it custom made. I did wear heels (for part of the evening at least) and in this photo I am barefoot, which also adds to the wrinkled/deflated look, and of course the bunched up wrinkled train does its part too.

I swear, I giggle each time I look at this photo. I look so much better here than I did in my wedding photos (which we took right before the wedding, and the morning had been rough with family nonsense).

flouncy flounce

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. We had a nice night.

Kostika - people often say that I look much younger than I am, so I guess it is probably true, but boy I sure have seen my face age over time. To me, I look exactly as old as I am, if that makes any sense. Anyhow, I got married at 23, so a bit on the young side by today's standards, but far older than when either of my grandmothers married.
