This is a photo of a photo and I didn't take the original, but it made
me smile. In Sydney I stayed with my friend Hilda, whose dad is a big
name professor in the mosquito world. Anyway, he was at Buckingham
Palace last month to meet with the Queen, and decided to pose for a
photo op by removing the head of a model mosquito and wearing it.

Thanks! Hilda's always had great stories about her dad, but it's nice that she got photographic evidence this time.

I really like the way his t-shirt appears to just say "why?"

OJ says:

Wow. I love this too. Do you have any idea who the original photographer is?

And I agree, it's the look on the girl's face that makes it so comic.

Did she really wear a skirt that short to meet the queen? Brilliant.

24th Aug 2007, 11:39

Steve says:

If I have to meet the Queen I shall do the same... Maybe a combo, Fake head plus plaid mini skirt

I think this was one of those "try and encourage kids into science"-type events, so there were a few professors and lots of school kids.

OJ> I think it was one of Hilda's dad's friends.
