From Brian Ronald:

"This clock is one of a matched pair. Its twin, on the junction of Pilgrim Street and Blackett Street, is in fine working order, and has a very distinctive chime. See the working one here:

See the context of the attached photographs here, where this clock appears on the second photo:

(Those are not my web site)

In the attached pictures, you will see all four faces. Despite having four faces with the hands all in random positions, it is still only correct twice a day, since three of the faces show "impossible" times, most notably the half-past-two-on-the-hour face. A third photograph is taken from directly beneath the clock, showing that the workings have been replaced with old plastic bags.

Like its twin, this clock used to be situated above a jeweller's shop. The name of Herbert Brown is still on the faces. They have vacated the premises, which is now home to Newcastle's branch of printing.com

Feel free to use and publish these pictures as you see fit.

Sincerely,

Brian Ronald
Newcastle upon Tyne"

Brian Ronald says:

There's a piece missing from the bottom of this clock, as can be seen on older photos, and on its twin. I believe the pyramidal bottom section housed the mechanism itself. It's gone, so technically there is no clock - just an unhappy set of clock faces.
