We went to Wales, dove up a hill/ mountain called Dawn of Day, parked
the car and went for a little walk. It was glorious weather beautiul
scenery...breathtaking. Then we saw what we had to pass if we wanted
to get back to our car ! The noise was phenomenal as all the sheep in
the fields ran to see the sheep on the road. After the sheep had
passed by the ones in the field that had been watching and calling
all went silent and walked away.........

Sheep are very silly, and yet I was quite upset by the plaintive calls of the ones in the field.....it doesn't do to anthropomorphise.....

What a beaut series. I love sheep- they're so dumb that they make me feel good when i'm not feeling so bright. I once saw a flcok of 300 merinos out near Dubbo (western NSW, AUst) follow one silly sheep into a barbed wire fence. HAve had 23 years of using that cautionary tale with my students when they chose not to think for themselves.

These welsh sheep, howevr are very beautiful and much cleaner looking than ours tend to be.

Looks like a nice place, regardless of ovines. :)
Don't worry, P, they can't help sounding plaintive - for all we know they may have been bleating, "Come & have a go if you think you're hard enough." at the other sheep... ;)
Jesson - recently shorn; by Feb they'll be grey, smeary, & have Things in their fleece. Favourite ovine objet trouvé was a small toy car stuck in a daft ewe's wool... Beats bits of blackthorn...
