Little Underbank, Stockport, Cheshire, SK1 1LA
Once the premises of Jacob Winter, clock/ watchmaker, silversmith, jeweller & optician,
also a local councillor. Mid 19th century, now a Joseph Holts pub.
Clearly the publican can't afford to fix it, Holts (the landlords) seem to be dragging
their feet, apparently the town council isn't interested despite lots of money going into
improving the area. Surely something like that is a landmark and an attraction, a reason
for visitors to bother going up that hilly sidestreet, just because it's about to strike
the hour?
