An elementary mistake

This morning I set off to work without my glasses. So I had to spend the morning working at my computer in my bug-like Dior prescription sunglasses.

I imagine I must have looked somewhat like Victoria Beckham would in the event that typing is declared the new sex. Well, I had lunch despite having to rush home for my specs, so not quite like Posh.

It reminded me of the day I went to school without my trainers and had to do cross-country in a pair of Clarks lace-ups. The shame. Somewhat to everyone's amazement I won that race.

I was always too geeky and cross-eyed to do well in PE, which was mainly about ball-sports. I'd love to spin that running victory as evidence of latent athletic talent, but in later years I have come to realise that it was all down to the fact that the cool kids would have stopped for a fag. These days I'm cool. Look at me, I am. So cool I wear my shades in the office. Hmm.

OJ says:

Thanks frog. It was good for that. You may also like to be amazed by the stunningly blue Sheffield sky.

I too like that top shot, and I love the bright blue, bright yellow combo :)

OJ says:

Not as much as I love it MaggieD. I feel drunken with sunshine after 10 minutes outside. Bearing in mind that the "summer" here was, in the words of a country song I heard last night "Cold and dark and wet".

Steve says:

The top shot is ace, but the bottom shot has some could cheek sucking action :)

OJ says:

Thanks Dhamaka. I'm really noticing the resolution in the top one. Is there something going on with the resizing I wonder? The original is really sharp. Maybe my imagination...

Ah, there's something very lovely about northern autumn light, isn't there?
I had a ride in a school bus last weekend and took some similar photos. Wedding guests were being shuttled between the bride's home and a Laurentian lakeside reception. If I post them, I won't use An Elementary Mistake as a title- one might think I was referring to the marriage.

OJ says:

"could cheek sucking action" Could?

I am NOT sucking my cheeks. Cheeky...

7th Sep 2007, 15:24

OJ says:

There is, Factotum, there is. And no, one should never use the word "mistake" with reference to a wedding. You should post them.

there's something called a sharp mask or anti sharp mask on moblog. You can turn it off but I've no idea how

7th Sep 2007, 15:29

OJ says:

Thanks Dhamaka. I can't see that as an option anywhere in my settings though.

7th Sep 2007, 15:36

Steve says:

Good cheek sucking... but I guess I was wrong on two counts :)

7th Sep 2007, 16:02

OJ says:

What was your other error? ;)

nige says:

hahaha. i can picture you in the office right now, OJ. take comfort in that they suit you well, and you look good in them.

7th Sep 2007, 16:12

OJ says:

Thankfully I'm not wearing them now. I failed to mention that I'm often wearing cans at my desk, so come to think of it, it would have been a headphones-sunglasses combo for some of the time. That's more P Diddy than Sticky Vicky isn't it?

Cool pics!
The sunnies?
Well . . . .

7th Sep 2007, 16:44

Steve says:

"could cheeks" instead of "good cheeks" an elementary mistake indeed

7th Sep 2007, 16:50

OJ says:

Thanks Joker. And Steve, I'll let you off, I'm hardly top of the class myself today.
