My mum's visiting at the moment and I took her to Vancouver Island for a day. This is the Butchart gardens, just outside of Victoria.

I've grouped most of my extreme dof photos here. Still can't get the flower shots to look as nice as Caines'.

yeah, unCainable here too.

we all have to go to Buchardt gardens with our moms. lot of moms there.

Not Caines but you're awf'ly able.
Sorry, resistance is futile.
Anyway, it's another style & completely adore the top one - you've managed to denude it of any trace of chocolate-box mawkishness, depite what you're using for subject matter. The colour's on the marvelous side too. :)

I think a whole bunch of people are being silly! Fantastic shots, RAB. Pure fantasy colours. I keep looking, but can't pick a favourite. I adore the shot of the fuschias, one of my lifelong favourite flowers.

My grandmother used to have monstrous hanging baskets of them back in So Cal. I can't grow them here unless I have them indoors or in a greenhouse. *Feels a long daydream about a greenhouse coming on.

I'm back. Still looking. I can't get the top shot out of my head. It's beyond beautiful. I guess I do have a favourite. :)
