(viewed 1788 times)

considering some of the flicks that have passed through here, this
benchmark 50th should prove no problemo.

Sprocket says:

shot 1 - some film with a giant genie in it

shot 2 - all that remains of a James Bond baddie who's just been eaten by a shark or crocodile or piranha etc . . .

shot 3 - looks a lot like Caroline Munroe prancing about in bubblebath, erm, well, yes please

shot 4 - a young Arnie Schwarzenegger (sp) playing a pool shark

Put em all together and I haven't a clue.

nige says:

i think we might need some clues...

11th Sep 2007, 22:33

Sprocket says:

A clue a clue a clue . . .

This suddenly reminded me of a scene from Moonlighting, don't know why, but it tickled me pink:

Security Officer: I'm sorry, but you're not on the guest list.

David Addison: That's because we're not guests. We're looking for a man with a mole on his nose.

Security Officer: A mole on his nose?

Maddie Hayes: A mole on his nose.

Security Officer: [to Maddie] What kind of clothes?

Maddie Hayes: [to David] What kind of clothes?

David Addison: What kind of clothes do you suppose?

Security Officer: What kind of clothes do I suppose would be worn by a man with a mole on his nose? Who knows?

David Addison: Did I happen to mention, did I bother to disclose, that this man that we're seeking with the mole on his nose? I'm not sure of his clothes or anything else, except he's Chinese, a big clue by itself.

Maddie Hayes: How do you do that?

David Addison: Gotta read a lot of Dr. Seuss.

Security Officer: I'm sorry to say, I'm sad to report, I haven't seen anyone at all of that sort. Not a man who's Chinese with a mole on his nose with some kind of clothes that you can't suppose. So get away from this door and get out of this place, or I'll have to hurt you - put my foot in your face.

11th Sep 2007, 23:53

nige says:

it's not a bollywood flick, nor is it sinbad - you're in the arctic, lady! ; )

love sean penn too. damn fine actor and director. i will always buzz on his performance in colours, with duvall.

number 50 may be proving a problem. how do we solve a problem (like maria!)?

11th Sep 2007, 23:54

swamprose says:

You bike b y Sean Penn, and it takes half a block for you to realize what you just did. do you turn around and go back? if you do, what do you say to him? like, go guy, you are so right. does he need me to tell him? no. so I went to the next movie.

yes. you need to make this more friendly. I love movies and this is just impossible. go nige.(just like sean penn)

11th Sep 2007, 23:58

12th Sep 2007, 00:04

nige says:

12th Sep 2007, 00:04

12th Sep 2007, 00:38

12th Sep 2007, 07:32

nige says:

the trail has gone cold again.

this is a comedy. not one of the writer / directors most famous quadrant of films but used the same leading man nonetheless.

12th Sep 2007, 09:48

taniwha says:

12th Sep 2007, 09:58

12th Sep 2007, 09:59

12th Sep 2007, 11:08

nige says:

the director has never made a sci-fi, but he does have a similarity with Blake's 7.

12th Sep 2007, 11:12

hildegard says:

Blake Edwards, The Party?

12th Sep 2007, 12:11

nige says:

in one hildegard!

Edwards best comedy imho.

thought a few more would get that one. over to you, h.

12th Sep 2007, 12:15

hildegard says:

In one? Hardly - got stuck on some kind of bastard child of Westworld & Bunuel at first... been mulling over American psychedelia & Italian surrealism too... you shouldn't have mentioned your film student past - I was assuming something very raree. Though what the hell I've got left in the movie box that isn't either a) hopelessly easy, or b) crushingly niche market, I'm sure I don't know.

12th Sep 2007, 12:21

Gadzoinks Hildegard! How did you do that?

I'm afraid of the upcoming movies...

12th Sep 2007, 12:24

hildegard says:

At one point, I was trying to solve a problem like Klaus Maria Brandauer... no point even trying to help me sometimes, none at all. A rod for my own back... (sigh)

12th Sep 2007, 12:25

nige says:

hehehe. wow, you went around the houses, but got there in the end. what tipped it for you?

12th Sep 2007, 12:41

hildegard says:

The images are surreal but it's got mainstream American cast - when you mentioned Blake's 7, the scales fell from my eyes...

12th Sep 2007, 12:46

nige says:

aha. i think this is the funniest film i've ever seen. and Peter Sellers is so damn good in it. apparently it was mostly improv too.

12th Sep 2007, 12:48

mara says:

The Party! I've loved this film!!

12th Sep 2007, 22:22
