vision express, the ongoing disaster

so, when I called the opticians to see if my replacement replacement glasses were ready (see here and here), turns out they had been in the shop a few days already, just nobody had bothered letting me know. "thanks, assholes", I think and head on into town to collect them.

When I get there, not only have they screwed up my sunglasses (different tint on each lens - how does that even happen?!), but my goddamn prescription is STILL FUCKING WRONG. So now I have to wait, again, for another eye test, then another three weeks after that - I might (if I'm lucky, might be longer) get my new glasses. Yes, the ones I paid over 400 pounds for on the 8th of frickin' august.

Someone is going to lose their balls/other gonads as appropriate over this, I swear. I am so damn cross right now, and so damn sick of wearing these pissy plastic frames (see second link, above) with shitty grade lenses in.

it's lucky I have some nice tea and super-chocolately cake right now.

Geez Mat, I'm sorry you are having a bad time getting your glasses. I'd like to want to tear someone's head off by now :(.

Helen says:

Sheesh, and I thought I had had a tough time having to drag Steve back to 20/20 every weekend for about a month for them to continually readjust my glasses (the lenses have never sat in the frame properly -- just glad it wasn't me that paid for them [that was the firm who broke my other glasses {by putting a printer on top of them}]).

Strange Little Girl says:

sorry to see you are having so much trouble, its so f@@@ing irritating when things like this happen.

Hope that you get it sorted soon and that someone gets a rocket up their ass.

glad you've got nice tea and choclatey cake

nobody launches a customer-complaint ass-rocketing quite like Mat does SLG. They won't be sitting down for weeks.

Spike says:

stroll into the store, ask calmly to speak to the manager, smile with ease and take out a pen and stab him in the fooking eye!.. he'll sympathise then for the problems with eyesight!

custoemr service is just degrading, ive had majore issues lately with some companies!

i have learnt my lesson with the length of time it takes to get glasses made. I intend to order next summers sunglasses just after Christmas, to give them time to get it right

I go to a family run opticians - much better service than this national chain bollocks.

mat says:

Vision Express are the only opticians in the whole of Norwich who stock the frames I like, so I'm kinda stuck with them.

Had another eye test on sunday, results came out different again. Am going back on thurs for objective test, where they'll drug my eyes so they can't focus and put me in a refraction machine. Apparently very accurate.

FilbertFox says:

very accurate and migrain inducing. Be prepared with painkillers, sunglasses and a darkened room.

2nd Oct 2007, 12:34

mat says:

really? they didn't say anything about that.

Hmmm. Painkillers aren't usually a good thing for me to take, 'cos I tend to then injure myself while I can't feel it hurting.

Geodyne says:

Eep, that sounds very very Not Good, Mat.

I often think that customer service is an oxymoron these days....but I was proven wrong on the weekend. Small, local shop of course.

FilbertFox says:
