Sucker for reflections and repeating geometry. Erratic uploader but always taking more pics. Now more behind than ever thanks to several recent work trips.
Currently shooting with a Panasonic DMC-TZ3, which has all the zoom I could ever need, but lacks some other refinements. It'll do until there's an affordable SLR with enormo-zoom that I can fit in my pocket; watching the Four Thirds consortium with interest ...
Oooo... must have been a clear day! I can see Mt Baker from my window at work if it's not foggy. I always love how it seems to float a mile above the horizon.
Oh ... I am so unbelievably jealous. Best view ever! :)
It was glorious ... we had five days of glorious sunshine in Vancouver in Sept. Loved it.
I'm a few miles south of Vancouver and found a piece of basalt with many granite pieces molten inside of it.
I'm not a geologist, but I think it must of come from mount Baker last time it exploded. I don't know if the football sized piece could have been airborne for 50 miles but would love to know how it arrived in my yard. It's quite jagged and does not appear to have been carried here by tidal forces.
Wow, that's incredibly cool. I know eruptions can project rocks pretty far. Is Baker your nearest volcano?
