This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

"Never to get lost is not to live, not to know how to get lost brings you to destruction, and somewhere in the terra incognita in between lies a life of discovery."
........ Rebecca Solnit

"Give, give, give -- what is the point of having experience, knowledge or talent if I don't give it away? Of having stories if I don't tell them to others? Of having wealth if I don't share it? I don't intend to be cremated with any of it! It is in giving that I connect with others, with the world and with the divine."
........ Isabel Allende

"Don't ask yourself what the world needs - ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them.. you have no such accurate remembrance of a country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle...."
........ Ernest Hemingway

........ James Cook

"The grand show is enternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapour is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."
........ John Muir

"The bicycle is the most civilised conveyance known to man. Other forms of transport grow daily more nightmarish. Only the bicycle remains pure in heart."
........ Iris Murdoch

"Photography for me is not looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you're looking at, then you're never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your picture...."

ooh plot blogging ... intriguing!

now i've fixed the mms on my new phone, and finally have settled in to a new life etc, i should actually be able to keep up! lol

Dhamaka says:

that's good to hear - I'm barely keeping up myself at the moment. So much to do!

321 messages, someones popular! (how many were spam?)

2nd Oct 2007, 15:30

nige says:

i reckon about 320.

540air says:

Only 321? Or did you delete a few to go for a bit of Ted Rogers and Dusty Bin? ;)

2nd Oct 2007, 15:36

Dhamaka says:

That just shows the unread messages from one of 6 regularly used accounts, but it's not because I'm popular - it's all work. In fact I've only received 3 emails from friends in the past 24 hours *sobs

I consider myself lucky with spam. So far I only get significant spam in one of them - a rarely used email account at that. However one account is just for PR updates which I need to read for my work but of which there are usually so many I don't normally bother

2nd Oct 2007, 16:21

Geodyne says:

Surely you could just scan through the PR stuff and discard the irrelevant ones?

The problem is of course, you realise that yours get lost in all of that as well...

doesn't that sign just make the shadowy window photo even better?

Caine says:

Busy, busy busy! And still you find time for plotblogs. I'm impressed. :)

2nd Oct 2007, 21:35

Dhamaka says:

Geo - I have more work than I can do anyway at the moment. I'll keep them unread and just do word searches when I'm researching stuff

taniwha - it does, doesn't it!

Caine - the plotblogs I put together normally take nearly as long to assemble as the British postal system takes to deliver them (bear in mind that something I sent to CHESO late December reached her in Argentina at the end of April about 2 days before I arrived on the plane...
