My Pet Hate: is TUESDAY, everything that has ever gone wrong in my life has happened on a TUESDAY! I hate it, it's now my day off so that i don't have to face the world! Don't make me have to suffer TUESDAY by asking me about it!!! I also dislike girls who drink pints, smoke and generally act like men!!

yeah got uTorrent on the go too...

I use iTunes for the iPod.. I agree with you, that's about all it's good for!

I tend not to have my music just playing randomly and listen on a track by track or album by album basis.. I usually use media player for that.

My God! That's a LOT of music! Our iTunes library only takes up a mere 44GB. I thought that was big enough...bloody hell...ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR GIG! Do you actually get time to listen to any of that???

iTunes sucks because it uses all your machine's RAM to hold it's library info in memory when it's running. This is bloody stupid, especially when you have tens of thousands of tracks in a collection - which is why players like Amarok or MusikCube use a database backend, rather than iTunes' flat-file xml. iTunes is also stacked full of bloatware-like "features" which all take resources to keep going, and it constantly hassles you to go to it's store and buy DRM'd music. I just want a music player that lets me play music, organise files and make the odd playlist.

Amarok is the best music player on any platform (I think you can get it for windows these days), it's playlisting and file management is superb. Windows Media Player is sinfully awful, and a security risk to boot, so I'm going to politely assume you guys are talking about Media Player Classic (nothing to do with WMP, google it). There's always WinAMP, too.

Also, I have 50K+ tracks in my collection, topping 216GB. Nyar. :)
