What is the significance of 1905 in your tags?

"Anonymous" is me, sorry.

that monument is to the first big strikes/riots of 1905.
there were huge textile factories there.

Potemkin mutiny was in late June and Moscow uprising was in December, but both are parts of what soviet history textbooks refer to as "the revolution of 1905-1907"



20.12.1905 a general strike started in Moscow. More than 400 plants and factories stopped. The strike grew into 9 days of full scale barricade fights with rifles, machine guns, and artillery, and additional army troops from st. Petersburg.



now this monument is a common place for communist meetings. Me and mallina just missed one that day. IMO it's the worst place they could think of, because they look pathetic next to the original.
