I have never had a car pass first time. It's something I hope to achieve though, one day. This one failed on a few lights, a dead brake cylinder on the nearside and a broken bonnet release catch.

My first car's first MOT cost more than the car itself. Then it blew up the next day anyway. I still had an outstanding invoice from the garage too. (note it wasn't their fault it blew up, then did fantastic work, it was an unrelated fuel problem)

That sucks. I thought you had only recently got the car and that it was fairly new?

it's S-reg, and has got 104K on the clock, so it's not holding up too badly, all things considered. I've had it pretty much exactly three years, I think.

Not too bad at all then really. My escort cost me about £200 last time round I think. It's a couple of years older than yours, but still runs nicely :)

Hehe. Got one too last week. Not Good.

Mine looks like it's the end for my old friend though - about £1000 worth of work :(

cars. yes. my new (2003) vw just sent me two recall notices. I am either going to burn up in my seat or not have brakes. and I need the car so I can't leave it there for ages, as they requested, to get it fixed.

cars! bikes rule.

Dear old Frankie (an N reg mini) is sitting on the drive waiting to fail her MOT. I need to get it done and sell her. I will miss her, she is beautiful.

Anyone want a lovely old mini?
