Now I lay(with everywhere around)
me(the great dim deep sound
of rain;and of always and of nowhere)and
what a gently welcoming darkestness--

now I lay me down(in a most steep
more than music)feeling that sunlight is
(life and day are)only loaned:whereas
night is given(night and death and the rain
are given;and given is how beautifully snow)

now I lay me down to dream of(nothing
i or any somebody or you
can begin to begin to imagine)

something which nobody may keep.
now I lay me down to dream of Spring

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

We held hands on the last night on earth. Our mouths filled with dust, we kissed in the fields and under trees, screaming like dogs, bleeding dark into the leaves. It was empty on the edge of town but we knew everyone floated along the bottom of the river. So we walked through the waste where the road curved into the sea and the shattered seasons lay, and the bitter smell of burning was on you like a disease. In our cancer of passion you said, "Death is a midnight runner." The sky had come crashing down like the news of an intimate suicide. We picked up the shards and formed them into shapes of stars that wore like an antique wedding dress. The echoes of the past broke the hearts of the unborn as the ferris wheel silently slowed to a stop. The few insects skittered away in hopes of a better pastime. I kissed you at the apex of the maelstrom and asked if you would accompany me in a quick fall, but you made me realize that my ticket wasn't good for two. I rode alone. You said, "The cinders are falling like snow." There is poetry in despair, and we sang with unrivaled beauty, bitter elegies of savagery and eloquence. Of blue and grey. Strange, we ran down desperate streets and carved our names in the flesh of the city. The sun has stagnated somewhere beyond the rim of the horizon and the darkness is a mystery of curves and lines. Still, we lay under the emptiness and drifted slowly outward, and somewhere in the wilderness we found salvation scratched into the earth like a message.

Beyond watching eyes,
With sweet and tender kisses,
Our souls reached out to
each other,
In breathless wonder,

And when I awoke,
From a vast and smiling peace,
I found you bathed in morning light,
Quietly studying,
All the messages on my phone.

Only when the last tree has been cut down,
And the last river has dried to a trickle,
Will man finally realise,
That we cannot eat money,
And reciting old proverbs,
Makes you sound like a twat.

Once upon a time there was a Bear and a Bee who lived in a wood and were the best of friends. All summer long the Bee collected nectar from the morning to the night while the Bear lay on his back basking in the long grass.

When winter came the Bear realised that he had nothing to eat and thought to himself " I hope that busy little Bee will share some of his honey with me". But the Bee was nowhere to be found - he had died of a stress induced coronary disease.

goode says:

i'm not sure about the look of it! :(

but then i have an ugly N95

20th Oct 2007, 16:54

Aahh I was going to get the N95 until I was told it was a bit rubbish by my phone friend.
Hhhhmm I think its looks nicer than the k800i and I prefer my phones chunky.
You cant see the blue strip around the edge and the pretty blue light round the lense when you turn the camera on.
I think I just like it a bit too much....

goode says:

it's when you start using the vibrate function to your advantage that you want to worry :)

20th Oct 2007, 18:27

Oh. Is that not what it's for...... :p

Kostika says:

W00T! It's out! I knew it was coming out this month. I must ring Vodafone on Monday.

ViX says:

I'm not sure about the buttons on this. When t-mobile finally bring it out I'll have to go have a look in the shop before committing!

21st Oct 2007, 13:57

Kostika says:

Mine will be arriving tomorrow!!

Vix I think I saw them in the window for the T Mobile shop so you might go have a look.

22nd Oct 2007, 13:05

Steve says:

Orange don't have them quite yet :( I'm glad that they have ditched the joy stick, that always breaks and gets annoying.

22nd Oct 2007, 13:12

Joe says:

I played with my friend Alisha's last night, the funky light round the camera is cool, and so is the little touch bar below the screen...it has an accelerometer as well which detects which way up you're holding it and rotates the screen contents accordingly (like the ipod touch) very cool.

22nd Oct 2007, 13:14

Steve says:

Actually Orange do have them but I would have to pay £29 to have it.... I don't think so, Time to put on my leaving hat!

22nd Oct 2007, 13:39

Kostika says:

Steve that phone sells for £350 new and without a SIM from SE. I don't think £29 is too much to ask :o)

22nd Oct 2007, 14:18

Joe says:

If they're asking for £29, what they're really saying is "we'd like to take this opportunity to relieve you of 30 quid, however if you threaten to leave we'll give you it for nothing".

22nd Oct 2007, 15:13

Steve says:

That what I think too, they get enough of my money throughout the year with bills in the region of £80 a month.

I just need to get my arse in gear and ring the other companies to see what they would offer.

22nd Oct 2007, 15:25

Kostika says:

Well I got mine for nothing with a 24 month contract. Which is no biggie to me since I'm not going anywhere any time soon. I have to use Vodafone, it's the only carrier that works here in the village.

22nd Oct 2007, 16:05

Euphro (NLI) says:

Cool! Mine is suposed to be here this afternoon :)

22nd Oct 2007, 16:09

seaneeboy says:

Ooooh, I think I have an upgrade to dream of when my contract runs out next year...

Unless there's anything else amazing coming up?

22nd Oct 2007, 16:29

Kostika says:

Damn you Euph!! Luckily I have no work again tomorrow.

Sean I don't know of anything else ultra shiny coming out. Although SE may have something else up their sleeve.

22nd Oct 2007, 16:46

Euphro (NLI) says:

Vodafone rang me on Friday and practically pushed one on me for free :D (well, with an 18 month contract attached).

22nd Oct 2007, 17:28

Kostika says:

I had to go with the 24 month contract cause I wanted a very specific terriff and that phone. But I got exactly what I wanted for rather cheap monthly cost and a free new shiny phone.

22nd Oct 2007, 19:42

Sprocket says:

ooh, I want I want I want, despite the fact that the advertising guys at Sony/Eric stole my trip to London with the Thomson Twins as the premise for their tv ad for this phone.

24th Oct 2007, 23:29

Steve says:

Spoke to someone in the "I'm leaving now department" and they gave me the phone for free.

29th Oct 2007, 15:14

Kostika says:

I did that to get my K800i. They're so giving when they think you're going to leave.

Nevermind the fact that I can't leave Vodafone since it's the only carrier that works out in the village where I live.

29th Oct 2007, 15:23

Steve says:

It is just so annoying, the upgrade guy was saying £29 is the cheapest we can do. The leaving guy was very you can have it for free and have some other stuff too.

I spoke to him about it because every year we go through the same thing. Apparently upgrade people don't have access to any information except list price and you should always go to the "I'm leaving line". Which in my opinion is annoying and a waste of everyone's time/money

29th Oct 2007, 15:44

Kostika says:

I lucked out with the upgrade girl at Vodafone. She didn't hassle me she jsut gave me what I wanted exactly and instead of charging me more jsut offered me a longer contract. Which in the end is fine cause I'm staying with them anyhow.

I've never really had any problems with the vodafone people luckily. Either it's jsut been luck or they really do have good CS. But in 7 years they've always been great to work with.
