bought a nice cheap nokia to replace my lost phone, and a wind-up torch that
is also a charger - I'd seen these ages ago, but at ?14 they were a bit
pricey, but they're on offer in woolworths at half price!

it says a couple of minutes winding will give enough charge for a couple of minutes call time, so it's only for emergency measures, but I'm quite often caught out in the middle of nowhere having forgotten to charge up, so I forsee it becoming part of my portable toolkit.

Good old Woolies. Hope they survive. Did you make your own connector cable P or is there a place to go to get one thats right for the phone? What does the wind-up end look like?

I forget now which phones it works with, but Vodaphone and Nokia are two that it does do - there's a lead with 4 interchangeable ends to suit the various phones. I was hoping it would do my MP3 player too, which is only chargeable by USB into a 3.5 jack, but it doesn't.
