It's great when you come across a new building, even on a freezing, grey day.

This tower is apparently built from the same red sandstone as Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and has an imposing hill position in common with it.

Yes Hildegard, it's Everton Water Tower, circa 1865. There's a covered reservoir next to it.
